Coaching
I bring the education, experience and compassion of a clinically trained therapist together with the energy, focus and relational aspects of a transformational coach— via video or telephone from wherever you are in the world. I offer a variety of holistic and trauma-healing services accompanied by my Doctorate level education in Clinical Psychology— which allows me the ability to better implement and intuit my methods.
I support clients in raising their capacity to meet a variety of life's challenges. Are you going through major life changes are you feeling stuck, burdened, or disconnected in your life or relationships? or are you on a journey of unraveling exploration of Self? I help clients tackle existential questions of purpose, deepen self-expression & creativity, expand their range of emotion and capacity for pleasure and ease, and get in touch with a deeper sense of meaning and purpose in their lives..
My approach is rooted in my belief in the innate capacity towards healing and wholeness. I offer a judgment-free and accepting space where you can explore yourself fully and find healing. My sessions act as a clear mirror, reflecting your inner self and providing the support you need to heal and grow. I cannot "fix" your problems, but I can guide you on your path of self-study and support you as you take brave steps in a new direction. Transformation requires active participation, persistence, courage, patience, trust, and a willingness to face difficult feelings.
My work is grounded in a depth perspective, emphasizing psychodynamic, relational, somatic, existential, and Jungian theories, while bringing in mindfulness, IFS, and mind-body practices when appropriate. While this work is trauma-informed and therapeutic in nature, it is not 'therapy' as is recognized by the U.S.
If this kind of work is something you are seeking, I am here to walk beside you. I’d love to learn more about you and see how I can best support you.
My Approach
Drawing from a rich tapestry of therapeutic theories and practices, my approach embraces a holistic perspective aimed at facilitating profound healing and growth.
Depth Psychology
At the core of my coaching framework lies a depth perspective, which delves into the unconscious components of the human experience that influence thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, often in ways that the individual is not consciously aware of. This exploration can involve delving into dreams, fantasies, and personal narratives, as well as examining patterns in a person's relationships and life experiences. This approach emphasizes psychodynamic, relational, somatic, existential, and Jungian theories, allowing for a comprehensive exploration of the mind, body, and soul. By uncovering the roots of emotional patterns and uncovering unconscious dynamics, we can gain a deeper understanding of ourselves and our relationships. Depth psychological work is typically a long-term process, as the work of exploring and integrating unconscious material can be complex and time-consuming. The aim of this work is not just symptom relief, but a profound transformation of the self, leading to greater self-awareness, personal growth, and psychological integration. (See here for more info on depth psychology.)
Somatics
Recognizing the intricate connection between the mind and body, I also incorporate somatic and mind-body approaches. Through somatic awareness, we can tap into the body's innate wisdom and unlock deep-seated emotional patterns. (See here for more info on Somatics)
Internal Family Systems
To complement our exploration, I draw upon Internal Family Systems (IFS). IFS allows us to uncover and heal the fragmented parts of ourselves, fostering internal harmony and self-compassion. (See here for more info on IFS.)
Mindfulness
By cultivating present-moment awareness and non-judgmental acceptance, we can develop a greater capacity to navigate life's challenges and cultivate inner peace. Mindfulness practices provide a foundation for self-compassion and self-awareness, enabling us to respond to life's difficulties with resilience and clarity.
Cognitive Approach
By identifying and transforming limiting beliefs and thought patterns, cognitive techniques empower us to reframe our perspectives and embrace more empowering narratives.
How it works:
This is a private pay coaching relationship, available in person or online. Sessions are 50 minutes and are currently being held virtually on Zoom, by phone, and in person. How often we meet depends on your needs, which we can explore during your free 15-minute introduction call.
To achieve the best results, most clients benefit from regular sessions, whether weekly, biweekly, or monthly. Deep healing work requires trust and safety, which can be cultivated over time. I recommend at least three sessions within a few weeks for positive momentum, and for long-lasting transformation, I suggest committing to four to eight or more sessions.
Many clients return to me for support whenever new issues arise, and I have witnessed their blooming and breakthroughs over the years. All sessions are voluntary, and there is no obligation to continue care once you feel complete with what you've received.
I measure the efficacy of my work by empowering my clients to become resourceful and empowered self-healers. My goal is for you to develop the skills and awareness to navigate future challenges on your own.
FAQs
-
Although coaching does not receive the same legal protections regarding confidentiality, Audrey adheres to the same standards in coaching as she would in traditional therapy.
-
The most pertinent distinction between therapy and coaching in the United States is that therapy is considered to be a healthcare service requiring an ICD-10 diagnosis, even if the service is being paid for privately. The coaching model is not designed to treat serious clinical diagnoses. Sessions do not qualify for health insurance or any healthcare payment plans including FSA, HSA or Healthcare dollar arrangements. Please note that Coaching clients do not receive a diagnosis and sessions are not eligible for use with insurance or healthcare dollars. Any clients whom Audrey deems to require a greater level of support than the therapeutic coaching model is designed to provide will be referred to receive therapy that is local to them.
While traditional Psychotherapy adheres to specific country regulations, Coaching is accessible to residents across the US, Canada, and globally. Clients secure regular slots on Audrey's calendar and connect via a secure video-link or phone, maintaining the same confidentiality and ethical standards as therapy. Clients benefit from the expertise of a clinically trained mental health professional without worrying about mental health diagnoses, medical records, insurance involvement, or disclosing treatment for disability or life insurance applications.
